Kapa Haka Rehearsal

Kia Ora e te whānau,

Kua roa nei te wā i tuku īmera ai ki a koutou ngā kaimahi o Māngere College. Nei rā ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa.

For the past 3 months our tauira in Kapa Haka have been working hard and practicing towards their performance at Te Ahurea Tino Rangatiratanga.

Ahurea is a Kapa Haka competition for Auckland Schools which was established in 1996 and is hosted by different schools each year.

This year there are 18 schools in total performing on Saturday (most schools to ever perform at Ahurea) and we are fortunate enough to be able to be apart of it.

Performances begin at 8am with the final perfomance at 5.30pm.

Our Kapa Haka group will be performing their bracket this Saturday 29th October at Westlake Boys High School at 1.30pm.

They have door sales on the day - Cost:

$5 pakeke (adults)

$2 tauira (students)

Free for 4 y/o and under

If you are available this weekend, please feel free to bring your whānau to support our tauira at their performance this weekend.

To prepare, we have also arranged a dress rehearsal in the Auditorium this week Thursday at 4pm.

All are welcome – especially for our whānau who aren’t available to make it out this weekend.

Our tauira are both excited and nervous to be performing this week.

Ka tika me whakapiki tātou i ō rātou wairua i tēnei wiki 😊

Ngā mihi tino nui e te whānau,

Moana
